In
order to determine the surface area of a pyramid, you must add the area
of the base to the sum of the areas of all of the triangular faces.

The
lateral area of a rectangular pyramid is half the product of the perimeter
of the base and the slant height.

*L.A.
=1/2 pl, where p = the perimeter and l = slant height*

surface area of a rectangular pyramid is the sum of the lateral area
and the area of the base.
